Padauk knife block. Approximate block size 1" x 2" x 5". Padauk comes from Central and West Africa and is often referred to as ‘Vermillion’ for its intense colour. The tropical tree tends to be a pale pink-orange colour when freshly cut, yet turns a rich red-brown when mature. Padauk has a straight grain and is relatively durable.
